On the 1st December 2017 at 20h00 the MRI revealed that I had a brain tumour the size of a golf ball at the base of my skull by the Pons between the Cerebellum. The official term is a Medullablastoma usually seen in children.

Celebrate, Relationships Otillia, Wow
A story about Otillia and Dale, and their photographer Robbie. As I read Robbie Aspeling’s story about Otillia and Dale, all I could think about was what Edmund Burke wrote in a letter… “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” …and that Robbie had chosen to do something, when a beautiful young woman was refused entry into a bridal boutique in Umhlanga.
Celebrate, Life bottleTops, The sweetheart Foundation, wheelchairs
We’re doing a *Happy Dance*. 🙂 We reached our goal of a TON of bottleTops. Since our very first depot delivery of 67 kg’s of plastic bottleTops, in our little red Renault Clio… I wondered how long it would take to get to a TON and how many people it would take? It’s been 18 […]
Achieve, Inspiration bottleTops
As I walked up our driveway, 13 year old Luke came through the gate, running towards me. He excitedly exclaimed, “Mandy, I haven’t seen you for such a long time!” while throwing his arms around me and giving me a big hug. It’s been six months, and Luke, who struggles with Prader Willis Syndrome […]
Celebrate, Life Love SA, service
I want to thank Mrs Nosipho Mkhupheka for her unselfish and exceptional service beyond the call of duty. This wonderful lady works at the Department of Home Affairs, Scottburgh. Today, at 4:00pm all her colleagues left their workstations and went home. Mrs Mkhupheka stayed and helped the last 40 customers… all on her own, and […]

Differences, Embrace bottleTops
On Sunday, we went into the Inanda Valley with Ant and his volunteers from KZN Valley Dogs, who feed the dogs in the valley once a week… on an assignment to find our wheelchair recipient, and hopefully get a photo. Unfortunately, even though we did visit Fiso’s home, he was at Church with his family. […]
There is so much negativity about, and too often we can get caught in a spiral of negative thoughts and feelings, especially when we stay connected through social media. Although I have read this before, as it has been doing the rounds on the internet for years… and the author is unknown, it’s inspiring and uplifting so […]
Embrace, Virtue authentic, choice, woman of worth
I choose… to live by choice, not by chance… to make changes, not excuses, to be motivated, not manipulated, to be useful, not used, to excel, not to compete. I choose… self-esteem, not self-pity. I choose… to listen to my inner voice, not the random opinion of others. I choose to be me. I choose […]
