Saved by Sandy

Have you ever woken up in the morning, after only four hours sleep… with a sick child, an absentee domestic and a meeting to go too, that you committed to provide two ‘plates of eats’ …however feeling absolutely terrible, and not wanting to leave your bed.

That’s how I felt this morning at 5:00am… and at 6:00am… and at 7:00am I knew that I wasn’t going to be able to make that meeting. However, my commitment to provide treats, was a responsibility I didn’t feel inclined to shirk.

After sending a very humble and apologetic SMS to the committee secretary that I wouldn’t be able to attend the meeting, and that I was trying to make alternative arrangements for the treats… I messaged Sandy from Namelaka, and explained my situation.

By 7:42am, Sandy sent me a reply, letting me know the dessert platter was ready and asking for the address to deliver.

I was literally, “Saved by Sandy” from Namelaka Desserts. *Grin*

And I know that they were absolutely delicious… Milhojas, Brownies, Marshmallows, Truffles, Meringues and Alfajores, all made personally by Sandy from the very best ingredients.

My favourite are the Milhojas which are a dessert made with stacked layers of puff pastry filled with arequipe; a creamy mix of condensed milk or caramel, sugar, and vanilla; and sometimes with white chocolate… that melts in your mouth with a delectable crunchiness, which is so unique it’s moreish.

Of course everyone loves melt in your mouth Meringues, Chocolate Truffles and Brownies… and with Sandy’s personal touch, the Namelaka Dessert treats are extra special, and although I haven’t tried Sandy’s personally made Marshmallows and Alfajores…. yet, *Grin* I am looking forward to the experience.

You can visit Sandy with an array of her Namelaka Desserts this Friday, 10th June 2016 at the Twilight Market, at the Kloof Country Club from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.

Today we feature Namelaka Desserts… and hopefully I’ll be able to spend some more time with Sandy, (and taste more of her delicious desserts) so we can get to know her better. *Smile*
